More Silverware and Gemstone Bracelets!

I am doing an event tomorrow, "Creativity for a Cause", at Casal Aveda Institute in Youngstown, OH.  It's from 12 - 4 p.m. - if you are from the area, stop by!  I wanted to make some more of the silverware bracelets, so now have five total.  Two are in my previous post, and these are the three I just completed.  I want to see if there is an interest in this  type of  art jewelry.  Each bracelet has a different gemstone.  The ones pictured here are with Pink Aventurine, Blue Goldstone, and Turquoise.  I think they have a Victorian or antique appeal.  If my clients like them, I'd like to find a variety of silverware pieces, perhaps even odd lots of sterling silver forks and spoons.  They can also be made into rings.

It is a process to make the bracelets, from cutting and drilling, to annealing and forming/bending, and adding embellishments.  The hardest part for me is the process of bending them.  Since these are silver plated pieces, the metal is not as forgiving as sterling silver may be.  I hope you enjoyed the post.  I'd love to hear from you!  Blessings, Anita

Creations in Sterling Silver

It's been a while since I have posted, but I HAVE been creating and doing more in sterling silver. I was always a little apprehensive to use my sterling silver wire because I was worried I'd waste it, but with the addition of the metalsmithing classes, my confidence has grown. Fortunately, not too much wire has been wasted and I have found ways to use the bits and pieces. Time is a great teacher in all things! I thought I would post the pictures of some of my recent designs in silver. I have been using a lot of Argentium s.s. - it is tarnish resistant and has beautiful shine. And, you can use Argentium for fusing! A big plus if you don't want to mess with solder. I have been very happy with the results and am still learning to use this wire. But if you like and want to add patina for a more antiqued look, then stick with sterling silver wire. Most, if not all, of the pictured items are listed on my Artfire site. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for following! Have a wonderful 2012! Anita

NEW IN FEBRUARY!

Winter certainly has given us a run for our money this year!  I am soooooo ready to break into Spring!  But in the interim, I have been making more chainmaille, some in argentium s.s., as well as doing some wire wrapping.  I am selling on consignment at two shops locally, MAE Spa, Hartford, OH and Dan - Gallery & Gift Store, Sharpsville, PA!  Very excited to have these two new venues.  I am also doing an show at the B&O Microbrewery, Youngstown, OH, on Feb. 12 from Noon to 7 p.m. - an afternoon of art, music, and local brew!  I have made some new items in January and February for each of  these venues.  And I still have Artfire!  So, this is how I beat the winter blues!!  If you have any questions, please leave a comment or e-mail me at JewelryExpressionsbyAnita.gmail.com.   Thanks for following!  Blessings, Anita

NEW BRACELETS FOR JANUARY!

I had a special order for a bracelet and being me, I made four so she would have a choice.  It was to be a gift and not knowing the recipient's taste in jewelry, I was compelled to offer my client a choice!  Two are done in 18 gauge jeweler's bronze wire and the other two are strung on beading wire.  Each a little different, but each with a little glitz added for glamour!  The stones used were jasper, aventurine, and fossil coral, along with a splash of silver and gold glass beads and Czech crystal beads for the glitz!  My client picked the copper and jasper with the copper colored floral toggle.  The rest will be priced for sale.

COPPER, COPPER, AND MORE...

I promised an update this week of my current projects and this is it! I have incorporated hammering, wire wrapping, stringing, and using a dapping block into these items. I don't have them posted to Artfire yet, but hope to soon. Please post a comment and let me know what you think of my newest creations! The glass beads were made by my friend, Jeanne (AKA gammiebrat) and I love the color of the beads with the copper. Thanks, Jeanne! Jeanne and I also invested our dollars together to purchase a kiln and are hoping to make some good use of this learning to use PMC (precious metal clay) and perhaps some other glass items. Thanks for looking!

BACK AT THE COMPUTER - MORE NEW LISTINGS

I have been busy, busy taking photos and listing products on my Artfire site. Most are new listings, but a few are old listings with updated photos. I still have a long way to go...so may spread it out over a couple of days. Tomorrow I'm off to spend a few days with my sisters and looking forward to some bonding time with them.
